Per-Set Exercise Targets feature in Steady 2.5

We are excited to announce the release of Steady 2.5, an update focused on giving you more granular control over your workouts, smarter progression tools, and a ton of quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback.

Here is a full breakdown of everything new in Steady 2.5.

✨ New Features

Per-Set Exercise Targets

You can now configure per-set weight and rep targets when editing an exercise’s targets. This is perfect for warm-ups, drop sets, pyramid sets, or any routine where your targets change from set to set.

Per-Set Exercise Targets

New Exercise Notes (Pro)

Keep track of the details that matter. You can now add routine-specific notes, general workout journaling notes, and pinned notes per exercise to ensure your form cues and reminders are always front and center.

Smarter Weight Recommendations (Pro)

When an exercise has no previous weight on record — or when you clearly outperform your target — Steady now uses your estimated 1RM and recent performance to set more appropriate next weights, accelerating your progressive overload journey.

Smarter Weight Recommendations

Repeat Past Workouts

Loved a previous session? You can now easily start a new workout directly from a past session with the same exercises, weights, and reps pre-filled.

Save Session as Routine

If you’ve built a great impromptu workout on the fly, you can turn that completed workout into a reusable routine for similar training days.

Faster Access to Exercise Information

We’ve added new action buttons directly on exercise cards. It’s now much quicker to review past performance, check your trends, and read your notes without leaving your active workout.

Refined Exercise Setup

Exercise setup and target editing are now clearer and faster, unified in a newly centralized settings screen.

🚀 Improvements

Alongside the headline features, we’ve polished up many existing workflows:

  • Quicker Weight Suggestions Interface: Weight suggestions are now surfaced where relevant, providing a much smoother review experience.
  • Edit Routines During Workouts: Realized your routine needs a tweak mid-session? Routines can now be adjusted while a workout session is active.
  • Quick Rest Time Selection: We’ve added new, easy shortcuts for commonly used rest durations so you spend less time scrolling.
  • Flexible Weight Increments: You can now enter any increment value and save frequently used ones for lightning-fast access.
  • Redesigned Exercise Details: The exercise detail screen header now features a collapsible image with a dynamic layout that remembers your choice.
  • 1RM Personal Record Highlights: Enjoy new, motivating visual indicators whenever you hit a new 1-Rep Max personal record.
  • Many Smaller Improvements: We’ve sprinkled various quality-of-life enhancements and polish throughout the app to make logging as frictionless as possible.

🛠 Fixes

To top it all off, we’ve squashed some bugs and improved stability:

  • Improved workout session recovery and Apple Health syncing.
  • More reliable progression and prompt handling during set completion.
  • Improved layout reliability across exercise settings, theme selection, and navigation flows.
  • General performance, stability, and UI refinements under the hood.

We hope you enjoy Steady 2.5! Head over to the App Store to update today, and as always, let us know what you think.

Stay Steady.
