Our Story

I'm Rafael, the creator of Steady. As an introvert with late-diagnosed autism who found joy in both strength training and app development, I noticed a frustrating trend in fitness apps: they were becoming increasingly cluttered with social features, ads, and distractions that took away from the core experience.

During my own workouts, I would get frustrated with the available apps – I just wanted to log my exercises and track my progress without endless notifications, social feeds, and complex navigation. I began to wonder: what if there was a workout app that prioritized focus and simplicity above everything else?

That's when I decided to create Steady. Despite having learning programming for just about a year, I committed to developing an app that would put the workout experience first. What makes Steady special is its unique development cycle: each day, I develop new features until late evening, then test them myself the next morning during my own workouts. This creates a continuous feedback loop where real-world usage directly informs development in a beautiful cycle of mutual improvement – the app helps me advance my fitness journey, while my training experience helps me refine and enhance the app.

Living in the small city of Quatro Barras in Brazil, I've dedicated the past two years to combining my passions for strength training and app development. Steady is the result of this journey – a distraction-free sanctuary for those who simply want to focus on their personal progress.

What Users Are Saying

Thanks to our beta testers that have been using the app for a while now, we have some great feedback to share.

"Been using Steady for a few months now and honestly its the first workout app that hasnt annoyed me lol. No social feed, no constant notifications, just me and my lifts. The weight suggestions are spot on too - somehow knows exactly when im ready to go heavier."

– Florian M.

"As someone who rly values privacy, finally found an app that doesnt try to upload all my fitness data to the cloud! The interface is so clean and simple, makes logging super quick between sets. Was stuck at 185 bench for like 3 months, steady helped me break thru to 205. No going back to those bloated apps!"

– Alessio P.

"Switched from that other popular workout app after they kept pushing more social features with every update. Just want to track my workouts without seeing ppls gym selfies and 'workout partners' notifications. Steady is exactly what i needed - clean, simple, focused on the workout. The progressive overload suggestions are actually helpful & ive added 15kg to my squat in 4 weeks. Why cant more apps be like this??"

– Raul R.

"Love that I could just buy lifetime access for cheap instead of another monthly subscription!! You really thought about the little things that make a huge difference - like how the app rounds my warmup weights based on the plates I have available at my gym. Set it once per equipment and it suggests weights I can actually use! never going back to calculating warmup sets in my head or on my phones calculator lol. I love the color-coded routines in my calendar as well. Tiny details like this make the experience so much better than other workout apps ive tried"

– Everett R.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is Steady available on Android?
A: No, Steady is designed exclusively for the Apple ecosystem to provide the best possible experience for Apple users.
Q: Does Steady have workout plans I can follow?
A: Rather than prescribing specific workout plans, Steady empowers users to create and customize their own routines, providing intelligent progression recommendations based on their performance. That being said, we do include several routine templates that users can start with and customize to their needs. This philosophy of user freedom extends to Steady's business model too—unlike apps that try to upsell you with "premium workout plans," Steady gives you complete control over your fitness journey without nickel-and-diming you for basic functionality.
Q: Does Steady track nutrition?
A: No, Steady deliberately focuses exclusively on workout performance to maintain simplicity and avoid feature bloat.
Q: How does Steady protect my privacy?
A: All your data stays on your device and personal iCloud. There is no server-side storage of your personal fitness information.
Q: Does Steady teach me how to perform exercises?
A: While Steady includes an extensive database with over 600 exercises and demonstration videos for the most popular movements, its primary focus is on tracking and progression rather than instruction. The app helps you organize routines, track performance metrics, visualize your workout history, and provides intelligent recommendations to progress steadily over time. Consider it a sophisticated tracking companion that complements—rather than replaces—the guidance you'd receive from a qualified personal trainer or instructor.
